Spirulina is another one of nature’s powerhouse super greens. Like moringa and wheatgrass, it is rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein. It grows naturally in alkaline lakes and is found on every continent. Spirulina is blue-green mineral-rich algae with phenomenal health benefits that has a long history dating back to the Aztec civilization. The Aztecs harvested green algae from surrounding lakes, then dried it in the sun to make a green cake. They would eat these cakes plain, mix them with food, or cook them into bread.
